In the puzzle-platforming world of Big Tall Small, size is more than just appearance—it defines who you are, serves as your weapon, and acts as the key to survival. You do not control a single individual; instead, you must manage a trio of oddly shaped characters trapped in a space filled with switches, trapdoors, and hazards. The catch? No one can be left behind. The exit portal opens only when all three differently sized pieces of the puzzle are gathered together.

    A Trio for Survival

All characters are specific tools for solving puzzles. The key to success for the team is to play to the different physical strengths of each team member.

Big: A bulky figure, weighty, blocky, moving slowly but standing quite solid. Big is created to be a sturdy platform at the base or to block dangerous impediments.

Tall: The team’s living ladder. Tall and lofty, can easily reach high ledges and works as a bridge to span gaps for teammates to stroll across.

Small: Small is small. Small can fit through narrow cracks and get into secret mechanisms, leaving the two larger friends powerless.

    Mastering the Terrain

The biggest challenge in Big Tall Small lies in the synchronized movement mechanic. Press right, and all three move right. Press jump, and all three leap simultaneously. You cannot move them independently on open ground.

To solve the puzzles, you must use the environment's nooks and crannies to offset their positions and break their synchronized rhythm.

    Controls

Left/Right Arrow Keys or A/D: Move the entire team. Up Arrow or W / Space: Jump simultaneously.

    R Key: Restart the level.

    M Key: Toggle sound on/off.

    Top Puzzle-Solving Strategies

    Wall-Pinning

This is a crucial skill. Walls aren't just obstacles; they are tools for adjusting the spacing between characters. Constantly use walls to push the blocks closer together or separate them as needed.

    Stacking

When you need to reach a great height, remember the perfect tower formation: Big forms the base, Tall stands on Big, and Small sits at the very top. This formation allows you to clear almost any high wall in the game.

    Scan the terrain before moving

Don't rush to move the moment the level starts. Scout for narrow gaps and high platforms. Determine who needs to go where first, then plan how to use walls to split up your team.

    Never leave a teammate behind

The gate only opens when all three characters touch it. Don't waste effort getting one character to the finish line only to realize the other two are stuck in a deep pit and unable to climb out.
