Don't just click frantically. Let the weapon glide on momentum and fire only to maintain speed or save the gun right before it hits the ground.

The 18 available weapons vary significantly in weight and recoil. You can't use the same firing rhythm for a pistol and a machine gun; adapt your tactics to suit each new piece of hardware.
